Our Historical Milestones
Since our inception, the U.S. Islamic Cultural Center has been dedicated to serving communities with compassion and dignity. Here are some key moments in our journey.
2008
Foundation of the Center
The U.S. Islamic Cultural Center was established to serve the spiritual and social needs of the Muslim community in New York City.

2010
Launch of Food Distribution Program
We initiated our food distribution program, providing meals to hundreds of individuals across NYC, setting the stage for our ongoing commitment to fighting hunger.

2015
Expansion to Times Square
Our outreach efforts expanded to Times Square, where we began distributing Qurans and offering free meals and services to the public every Saturday night.

2020
Digital Outreach Initiatives
In response to the global pandemic, we launched online educational programs and digital outreach to continue serving our community safely and effectively.

501(c)(3) Designation: What It Means for Us
The U.S. Islamic Cultural Center is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. This status allows us to operate as a tax-exempt entity, ensuring that all donations are tax-deductible for our contributors. It underscores our commitment to transparency, accountability, and the effective use of resources to serve our mission. By maintaining this designation, we assure our donors and community partners that their support directly impacts our programs and initiatives, helping us to continue our vital work in serving communities, fighting hunger, and building stability.

Imam Muhammad Waliullah
Imam Muhammad Waliullah is a distinguished religious leader and scholar, renowned for his profound contributions to the Islamic community. A Hafiz-e-Quran since 1993, he graduated from Al-Azhar University in Cairo with a degree in Theology and holds a Master's in Islamic Studies from Darul Ihsan University, Bangladesh, with an impressive GPA of 3.97. Currently a PhD candidate in Islamic Studies, Imam Waliullah has dedicated over 15 years to serving as an Imam at the Hillside Islamic Center and the Long Island Muslim Society. His commitment extends beyond religious duties, as he volunteers with the NYS Chaplain Task Force and is an alumnus of the USAID Leaders of Influence program. His leadership and compassion have been instrumental in fostering community growth and spiritual guidance.
